We have spent hours talking to parents, read hundreds of reviews, and spent far too long poring over scrapbooks, and can definitely say that the Ronica Farm Animal Baby Book – Moo, Meow, Quack is the one to get! If you are looking for a baby memory book that makes scrap booking really fun, this is the one to get! In addition the stickers that come with this book turn it into an adorable record of your little one’s first years.

What is a Baby Memory Book?

Put simply, a baby memory book is like a scrapbook, but more advanced!

Like a scrapbook, these books allow you to stick in photos, and write captions for them, which capture your little one’s first years in style!

The advantage of these books over the more traditional scrapbook is that they give you a structure to fill in. Making a scrapbook from scratch can be a daunting task – what to record? Which photos to include?

With these books, some of this work is done for you. They have pages which prompt you to stick in photos at appropriate times – your baby’s first Christmas, for instance, or their first step.

How we review

We review by listening to real parents. Nothing can beat their real-life experience of using these products, and when asked they are more than happy to divulge all the features and failings of their purchases!

For this review, we collected and read hundreds of product reviews, and talked to the parents who had written them. Sometimes, what a company sells as a feature can in reality become a major annoyance, something which new parents have enough of. And they tell us about these annoyances, at length.

And so all the reviews below, though written by us, are based on real experiences.

Baby Memory Book Reviews

One thing to look for in books like these is the quality of the binding, and the paper used. Most books will record the first five years of your little one’s life, and this is quite a long time to be using the same book. Ideally, you want a book that is as rugged as it is cute, and will not degrade for years.

Beyond this, the choice of which baby memory book to get is quite subjective. Each book has its own visual style and extra features. However, after talking to dozens of parents, we are happy to make some suggestions!

So without further ado, here are our favorites!

Editor’s Pick: Ronica Farm Animal Baby Memory Book – Moo, Meow, Quack

Ronica Farm Animal Baby Memory BookQuite simply, the cutest book available, whilst still including all the features you would expect from a book like this!

Everything about the design of this book is great, from the colors used to the sweet pictures of animals that cover the pages. The sturdy binding also looks like it will survive years of use without falling apart.

The design is also really intuitive. With some memory books, parents can become confused about what to include or not, or forget to record some important moment until too late. These stresses are the last thing a new parent needs!

Ronica Farm Animal Baby Memory Book – Moo, Meow, Quack

Everything about the design of this book is great, from the colors used to the sweet pictures of animals that cover the pages. The sturdy binding also looks like it will survive years of use without falling apart.

This book, unlike some others, goes into great detail, saving you hassle and allowing you to quickly and easily find that special moment, even years later!

Advantages

  • The animal stickers that come with this book are the cutest thing we have seen for quite some time, and really add an extra dimension to the book! There is a differently themed animal sticker for each month up to your child’s first birthday. Sticking these in is really fun, and really livens up the experience of keeping a scrapbook!
  • The book also comes with a keepsake envelope, allowing you to keep extra photographs, or anything else, inside the book for safe keeping. Whilst the intuitive design here means that you will never be at a loss as to what to record, sometimes there are special moments that nobody can predict, and so this envelope came in really handy for the parents that we talked to!
  • The rugged design of this book means that it will last for years. Even when you have grandchildren, it will still look as good as new, so you can embarrass your now-grown-up children for years to come!
  • The stylish design of the book is very clever. It combines a cute aesthetic with a stylish, clean look, and this means that you need not be embarrassed to get the book out at family gatherings – even your cynical uncle will be won over by the endearing pictures and colors!

Disadvantages

  • In truth, very few. If you are looking for a baby memory book that combines ease of use and excellent design, this is the one for you!

C. R. Gibson Memory Book, Made with Love

CR Gibson

The focus with this book is on simplicity. It still contains the prompts and rugged design that you would expect from a quality memory book, but does away with every extraneous detail in order to focus on what matters most – your child’s first years!

C. R. Gibson Memory Book, Made with Love

Overall, the book feels and looks great, with a fabric binding that looks almost indestructible, so we are sure that it will give many years of service without falling apart.

Overall, the book feels and looks great, with a fabric binding that looks almost indestructible, so we are sure that it will give many years of service without falling apart.

The simplicity of the design also gives this book a really classy feel, and gives you space to customize it. If you are not a fan of really cutesy pictures or designs, then this is the baby memory book for you!

Advantages

  • From the moment you receive this book, it is a joy. It comes gift-boxed, meaning that it is perfect to give as a gift. There can be no better present for a new parent than a way of recording all the special memories that are to come!
  • And once you unwrap the book, its quality is evident even from the front cover. A great feature here is that the front cover has a space for you to slide in a picture of your little angel, giving the book a really personalized feel.
  • The quality of the paper used is also worth mentioning. The pages feel great, and are nice and thick, which is especially important for a book that you will sticking lots of photographs into!
  • The paper, we’re told, is also specially designed to last for ages. It is both acid and lining free, and so will not yellow or degrade over time. This is perfect for a book that you will be keeping for years, and ensures that in many year’s time you will still be embarrassing your children with shots of their early years!

Disadvantages

  • This book is a joy to use, and is solidly built, though perhaps could use a few more prompts. This, however, is really a matter of taste – some parents we talked to preferred to have a lot of prompts and structure in books like these, and some preferred more space to be creative!

Cameron Frank Baby Memory Book

Cameron Frank Baby Memory BookThe focus with this memory book is on longevity. The sturdy design means that it will last for an absolute age, and allow you to embarrass your children even when then are fully grown!

It also offers a nice mix of prompts and creative space. Some parents we talked to preferred memory books which gave them a clear structure. Others said that having lots of blank pages to record memories that were special to them really allowed them to be creative with their book. Which type you choose is down to you personal preference, of course, but this book offers a nice compromise between the two!

Cameron Frank Baby Memory Book

The focus with this memory book is on longevity. The sturdy design means that it will last for an absolute age, and allow you to embarrass your children even when then are fully grown!

Advantages

  • The great thing about this book is its robust design. The covers are hard, and completely enclose the pages. If you travel a lot, this can be a real advantage, because some books with a softer design can become frayed and dog-eared if they are constantly being taken in and out of suitcases!
  • Like some other books, this book also includes an envelope, so you can save extra photographs, or anything else, safely inside the book for years to come!
  • Another great feature of this book is the large, customizable frame on the cover. Whilst some other books have a similar feature, allowing you to insert a picture of your little angel directly into the front cover. The difference with this book is that it will accommodate a full 6 x 4 inch photograph, which really adds an element of personality to the book!
  • Endearingly, this book comes with pages for parents to write letters to their children, for them to read in the future. This really adds value to the book – in many years time, when your children are fully grown, we can easily imagine a family Christmas where everyone is moved by a letter written long ago.

Disadvantages

  • A great memory book, but perhaps lacking some of the style of the others we have reviewed here. The pictures and colors in this book are great, but perhaps look a little old-fashioned nowadays. Of course, the simple design is a real advantage if you are creative, in that it allows you a lot of space to customize the book!

Pearhead Chevron Baby Memory Book

Pearhead Chevron Baby Memory BookA solid performer, but lacking some of the features of the competition.

This book looks great, in a pared-down, simplistic way. Of course, this can be a real advantage if you are a creative parent, allowing you to really make the book your own.

However, new parents already have a lot of work to do, and perhaps spending hours customizing your baby memory book is not your idea of fun!

That said, one great feature of this book is that it includes a no-touch ink pad, which allows you to take hand or footprints, and insert them into the book. The front cover even has a space for you to insert these prints, adding an extra level of personalization.

Pearhead Chevron Baby Memory Book

This book looks great, in a pared-down, simplistic way. Of course, this can be a real advantage if you are a creative parent, allowing you to really make the book your own.

Advantages

  • The ruggedness of the design here is a joy. The cloth binding is strong, and we can imagine that this book will survive for many years!
  • The acid-free pages also contribute to the books longevity. You can be sure that, within limits, the pages will not yellow or degrade over the years, ensuring that the book stays as good as new until your kids are fully grown!
  • The clean-touch ink pad included with this book is a great feature. Many parents buy these pads separately, because they allow a no-mess way to record endearingly small hand and foot prints for posterity. This book has been designed with prints like these in mind, and so has spaces for you to stick them in. This adds another level of personality to the book.

Disadvantages

  • This is a great memory book, but perhaps looks a little old-fashioned today. There are no cutesy pictures of animals, for instance. Of course, some parents prefer this kind of simplistic design, because it allows them a lot of room to really personalize their book!
  • Some parents we talked to found the sections of this book a little too rigid. As with everything about these books, this is really a matter of opinion – some parents find that having a clear structure designed for them really helps them to make a great book!

Our Final Thoughts

So which to choose?

Well, as with everything you choose for your little one, which book is best for you is a very personal question. Some parents like books that have a simple, no-nonsense design, because this allows them a lot of space to get really creative. Others find that having a strict structure in a book like this takes some of the stress out of making one.

In addition, what parents prefer in graphic design is a subjective choice. Some prefer pictures of animals, others like a more stylish, minimal design.

Our preference, we admit, is for cute pictures! Partially for this reason, we recommend the Ronica Farm Animal Baby Memory Book – Moo, Meow, Quack – the design of this book is a true joy!

The addition of stickers in this book is also great, adding another level of fun to making the book, and once it is completed it is the cutest book out there!

We also really liked the mix of prompts and space in this book – it reminds parents to put in pictures and other entries where many would forget, without making the design of the book too prescriptive.

In short, if you are looking for a super-cute baby memory book with a rugged design, lots of extra features, and an endearing visual style, this is the book for you!
